Rodriguez Custom Road Randonneur Bikes - The Rainier

Rodriguez Rainier Sport/Randonneur Bicycles - from $1,999

as a frame only from $1,349

Meet the Rainier!
This is the bike that the rest of the bike industry forgot about! We've designed and spec'd our own Rodriguez custom carbon fork just for use with this bike. In addition to more tire options, the Rainier offers If you ride on 25mm tires but want the option of 28's or 32's, have we got the bike for you! Our custom Rodriguez Rainier carbon fork, unlike so many others, gives you a wide range of rim and tire choices. lots of clearance for full fenders, fittings for a rear rack, and a triple crank set.

"Why would anyone want fenders, wider tires, a rack, and a triple crank?" asks the bike designers for the other companies. Well, it just so happens that our customers want to ride their bikes no matter what mother nature throws at them, or what hills or mountains they encounter. They got tired of bikes that whimpered at the thought of a little rain and started cutting and customizing fenders (albeit pretty crudely) to fit their race bikes. They didn't want the weight of a full touring bike, or heavy disc brakes...they wanted a race bike...but with fenders, durable tires, more gearing options, and a rear rack, all a must for the weekend tourist or daily commuter (at least in Seattle).

About the Rainier Limited

The Rainier Limited is about the least expensive U.S. made bike available. Our goal was to bring a hand-built custom bike to people who normally wouldn't be able to afford one. While some of the parts are not the latest and greatest, the heart of any bicycle is the frame. With the Limited you're getting a great frame that's a perfect fit for your 'frame'. Marry the frame, and date the parts we say! The Rainier Limited has been a favorite "first comfortable bike" for many folks over the last several years.

About the Rainier Classic

The Rainier Classic is our most popular model. It starts with the same frame as the Limited, but comes standard with Shimano 9sp STI shifters, and steps it up a notch with the Rainier custom carbon fork. It also comes with a more durable sealed head set. The Classic is an extremely competitively priced, U.S. made, hand-built road bike. It rides comfortably with its lightweight steel frame, and will provide you decades of riding.

About the Rainier Sport

Your Choice....Shimano 105 or SRAM Apex

The Rainier Sport is the same as the Classic, but with Shimano 105 or SRAM Apex components. While most of our Rainier customers prefer a triple crank and 9-sp rear shifting, not all do. We've had requests quite often for an 11-sp bike with a compact double crank. The Rodriguez Rainier custom sport bike is about the best value out there in an American made ride! Look around and I think you'll see that our price on this bike stacks up against Shimano 105 or SRAM Apex equipped bikes made overseas.

Made in USA

Rodriguez Bicycles to the rescue! Inspired by a rainy RAMROD (Ride around Mt. Rainier in One Day) Scott designed the Rainier in 2007 as a new model. It quickly became our number one seller. Oh sure, we still make 'non-fender' race bikes, don't get me wrong. But with the rise of commuting and Randonneur cycling, the Rainier has really hit its stride here in the Northwest. No more sawing your fenders to pieces, trying to duct tape the jagged bits onto your bike and calling them "race fenders". Just get a Rodriguez Rainier, put on a real set of full fenders and laugh at your buddies while they eat the muddy spray off of their own front wheel. Just ask some of our customers what they think of their Rodriguez Rainiers! Find out why Rodriguez bicycles are the best value in the industry!

Quick facts:
Don't let the fenders fool you! The Rodriguez Rainier is just as light and fast as any road bike on the market today. Of course, the Rainier is American made from True Temper or Reynolds butted tubing. This provides the classic light-weight 'steel feel' the Rodriguez road bikes are famous for. We offer the Rainier with a selection of SRAM or Shimano equipment. Every Rainier comes with a pair of handbuilt wheels with a 3-year warranty. It's a comfortable, versatile bike that is perfect for a full day's ride and our fit is guaranteed.

Sizes: All of our bikes are offered in 20 production sizes . If you don't fit one of our production sizes, a custom size frame in any model is just $200 extra. Plus we are offering every bike in our line-up with any choice of 4 different paint options at no extra charge. Custom paint jobs or colors are also available. If that's not enough, we have 9 different decal options to choose from as well.

For those ready to tour the world, we're offering the Touring travel version (from $700 upgrade) that uses S&S couplings and fits in a 26" X 26" suitcase.
